Mission Statement

The Association and Business Management Center (ABMC) is a non­profit organization that contributes to the success of its members, and other associations and businesses working in the agricultural sector, by providing them with planning and administrative support, techni­cal assistance, and professional skills development.

The ABMC was created in March 2001 and capitalized with funds from eleven agri-associa­tions, whose contributions made them owner associations. The ABMC has also been sup­ported by the Assistance to Albanian Agricultural Trade Associations Project, an USAID funded project, implemented by IFDC, as part of their effort to develop sustainable agricultural associations in Albania .

The purpose of the center initially was to reduce the operating costs of the eleven owner associations by 1) providing planning, administrative, and logistical support for their mem­bership meetings and business activities, 2) assisting association boards in the collection of and accounting for membership dues, and 3) maintaining association bank accounts and preparing all financial reports. The expert staff of the ABMC - concentrates on providing the administrative and technical support to owner associations and their individual members, which gives the association leadership time to focus on developing and strengthening their membership base and their businesses.

The ABMC services and support listed above are offered based on the annual due of those eleven associations who contributed toward the capitali­zation and operating costs of the ABMC. In addi­tion, technical assistance and professional skills training is available to their members at a reduced cost. The same expertise is available to any other agro-association or agri-business that contributes capital funds to become an owner of ABMC. Also, when an association or business becomes an owner the ABMC Board of Member Association Presidents, in of the ABMC, its president order to provide their guidance and expertise in the overall management of the center.
